R[ECO]NNECTING TEMUAN
Self-sustained Ecotourism Project
A self-sustained ecotourism project is proposed to explore the potential programmes aiming to enhance self-empowerment among the Temuan tribe, as well as an effort to amplify their voices. As the community continue to be opressed regarding their ancestral land rights, they are currently still benefited off the forest by foraging forest resources. It is not only as an act of living, but to protect the forest and its species from being harmed or taken away from them. Envisioning the project could bring certain impacts to the lives of the tribe as it enhances their skills and eventually improves aspects in their life especially in retaining their status as the rightful owner of the ancestral land. It can be concluded that architecture plays a major role in uniting the differences of people and potentially become a tool for recognition as well as appreciating their identity.
